FoodBytes! applications are open: New Modes of Production
FoodBytes! is one of the industry’s most valuable global networks for food and agriculture startups pioneering sustainable innovations.
It is Rabobank’s discovery platform that champions cross-industry collaboration between the most promising startups, corporates and investors.
Last quarter, FoodBytes! connected with startups responding to new consumer demands that are changing the face of food. Now, the team is in search of startups building systems to produce that food from the ground up.
Through May 31, FoodBytes! is actively scouting startups with breakthrough ideas that optimize food production decisions and improve full value chains in resource-constrained environments, including:
Novel farming and farm management
Farm biologicals
Hyper-localization
Cell & fermentation technologies including synthetic biology and cell ag, and supporting technologies that aid scalability
FoodBytes! helps startups validate and grow their businesses - and their impact - through global industry exposure, tailored mentorship sessions, individualized strategic connections with corporates and investors, pitch refinement and media visibility.
It is supported by the vast global Rabobank network, its nearly 50 corporate and investor members and a community of mission-driven alumni entrepreneurs. FoodBytes! seeks startups pioneering novel solutions in Agtech and FoodTech that have validated business models, demonstrated commercial traction, a robust, diverse team and a cross-industry collaborative mindset that have the potential to drive meaningful and sustainable change throughout the food value chain.
FoodBytes! has made some pivotal changes in 2022 that will help catalyze long-term collaboration and improve future food systems, most notably, moving beyond the pitch competition.
Rather than an annual call for applications, and one Pitch program, they are expanding to a continuous scouting model with quarterly program offerings. Each quarter, a curated group of 15 startups will join the FoodBytes! Network.
